The Dara Ashley Foundation’s 1‑on‑1 Mentorship pairs underrepresented college students with vetted professionals for personalized guidance on academics, careers, and life. Through consistent coaching, skill‑building, and network expansion, mentees emerge with clarity, confidence, and tangible next steps.

Duration: 6 months (January–June) — virtual with optional in‑person meetups
Launch: Kicks off the week after MLK Day each year
Cohort Size: Limited mentor–mentee pairs to ensure quality support
Format: Bi‑weekly 1:1 meetings + monthly community skill sessions
Support: Dedicated program manager, check‑ins, and resource library
Outcomes: Career roadmap, polished résumé/LinkedIn, and expanded network
Note: Mentors and mentees are identified and matched before January 1 to enable a smooth start.

Pairs are selected based on:
Career interests & major (STEM, business, public service, health, etc.)
Availability & time zone
Industry/identity preferences when requested
Growth goals stated in the application

Mentees receive:
Priority access to internships, externships, and partner opportunities
Personalized résumé & LinkedIn optimization
Mock interviews with industry volunteers
Letters of recommendation (as appropriate)
